Marc D. Roberts

Attorney/Owner

Is a 2004 Graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law. He began his career as an assistant district attorney for Bristol County and entered private practice in 2006. Attorney Roberts has been operating the Law Offices of Marc D. Roberts in the same location since 2006 helping literally thousands of clients. Attorney Roberts is a seasoned trial lawyer, spending many thousands of days in court on various matters in his more than twenty years of practicing.

In addition to practicing law, he invests in the next generation of legal professionals. He has taught law students as an adjunct professor at UMass Law School, and also undergraduates at Bristol Community College in both the Criminal Justice and Paralegal Studies Programs. He has taken on many undergraduate and law school interns over the years to teach them the right way to practice law.

Attorney Roberts is well respected among his peers who often seek his counsel for advice. Attorney Roberts is the past President of the Bristol County Bar Advocates, the largest criminal defense attorney organization in Bristol County. He currently holds the position of “Supervising Attorney” supervising well over 100 criminal defense attorneys who are contracted with the state to provide criminal defense representation to indigent individuals in Bristol County.

Attorney Roberts is dedicated to being on the cutting edge in criminal defense and runs social media groups for criminal defense attorneys and also criminal justice related individuals in Bristol County and state wide. He frequently shares ideas with colleagues and is always open to learning from them, keeping himself up to date and never stuck in the past. Attorney Roberts has been practicing criminal law for over two decades and family law for nearly two decades. Attorney Roberts has a keen interest in fairness and justice of all types. Justice for the accused, justice for the individual parent, justice for students not treated fairly in school, justice for those victimized by unfair and deceptive businesses, and justice for those who were injured wrongfully by others either financially and/or physically.

Outside of the law, Attorney Roberts is a dedicated family man, married over 15 years raising two boys. He is avidly involved in their sports and coaches both baseball and basketball. Attorney Roberts understands that when something happens to you, it affects your family too and many facets of your life. He will get to know you and see you as a person, not a case. Attorney Roberts is a straight shooter, and will tell you exactly how he sees it. He will tell you when you don’t actually need a lawyer and to save your money. Or he will tell you when he thinks a certain colleague might be better fit for your particular problem than he would be. He is incredibly honest and forthcoming with his clients, cares about his clients, and works hard to work with them to achieve the best results possible.

Jeremy T. Hersh

Associate Attorney

Received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin 2019 and graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in 2022. While attending UMass Law, Attorney Hersh interned with the Law Offices of Marc D. Roberts for two years, learning the ins and outs of criminal defense and family law while being mentored by Attorney Roberts. He also served as a Staff Editor for the UMass Law Review, and was a Teaching Assistant for the school’s legal writing program. He began his legal career as an associate attorney in the litigation department of a Taunton law firm, dealing with real estate, business, and probate disputes, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. Attorney Hersh returned to the Law Offices of Marc D. Roberts in the fall of 2023 as an associate attorney, where he now represents numerous clients in criminal, civil, and family law matters. Attorney Hersh is certified by the Committee for Public Counsel Services to represent indigent criminal defendants in Bristol County, which is a position that he takes great pride in.

Attorney Hersh is a diligent and pragmatic attorney, and a zealous advocate for his clients. After growing up and watching many of his family and friends go through the court system, Attorney Hersh understands that a court case not only impacts the particular client, but an entire family. Attorney Hersh strives to achieve an outcome in every case that not only protects his client’s rights, but also has a benefit to his client and their families based on their particular and individual needs and goals.

Outside of the law, Attorney Hersh enjoys spending his time golfing, traveling, and cheering for his beloved Wisconsin sport’s teams. Attorney Hersh is originally from Wisconsin, but now resides in Fall River, where he enjoys running into his current and former clients in the city and having a quick chat to catch up.

Avery Almeida

Paralegal

Avery is a recent graduate of Bristol Community College with a degree in paralegal studies. She is continuing her studies to obtain her bachelor’s degree with a focus on attending law school. Avery’s responsibilities at the firm are very diverse. She help in more ways than we can count. She is incredibly bright and friendly. Her passion is animals but she is a very dedicated employee. She has quite a few!

Romeo

Office Mascot

Romeo is a chocolate-tri-merle English Bulldog who works in the office about 1 day a week. He has some favorite clients that he comes in to visit. He is stubborn and rambunctious; his manners are generally good but occasionally not. He stubbornness to get what he wants is a motivation to all the staff to work hard for our client’s and never give up. As we like to say, “If you need a lawyer, hire a bulldog!”
